Meet Toby Schindelbeck
Owner & Operator
Toby Schindelbeck, along with his wife Lisa, proudly owns and operates Nutrishop Sarasota.
Toby’s fitness journey began in 1997 when he embarked on a mission to lose fat and improve his health. By designing his own supplement, workout, and meal plan, Toby achieved remarkable results, losing 40 pounds and 6 inches off his waist in just four months.
A Legacy of Excellence
Toby’s career in fitness took off when he became a personal trainer and started working at a local
GNC in 1997. By March 1998, he purchased the Max Muscle Sports Nutrition store in Riverside,
California, becoming the youngest license owner in the company’s history at age 20. Under his
leadership, the store was ranked No. 1 out of 180 locations for three consecutive years.
In 2000, Toby and Lisa expanded their business by opening a gym, Accelerated Results, next to
their Max Muscle store. Over the next five years, they launched four more Max Muscle locations
in the Riverside area. Seeking a change, they moved to Chico, California, in 2006, where they
opened a Nutrishop Sports Nutrition store. This store quickly became the No. 1 Nutrishop out of
145 locations for three years straight. After opening a second Chico location in 2010, they
eventually sold both stores in 2013 and relocated to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
For nine years, their Idaho store remained in the Top 10 of all Nutrishop locations. In May 2022,
Toby sold the store and moved to sunny Sarasota, Florida, continuing his passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals.
A Personal Mission
Toby’s dedication to fitness and nutrition is deeply personal. Inspired by his grandmother’s
struggle with Type 2 diabetes, Toby has made it his mission to help others improve their health
through proper nutrition and exercise. His approach is holistic, focusing not just on physical
transformation but also on enhancing the overall quality of life for his clients.
“I believe fitness is about more than just gaining muscle or losing fat. It’s about improving your
quality of life. My goal is to help clients reduce their medication, have more energy, and enjoy
life to the fullest.”
Competitive Edge
Toby’s competitive spirit is evident in his achievements. He has competed in three bodybuilding
competitions, placing fourth in two and second in one. He also holds the California state record
for deadlift in the drug-tested WABDL powerlifting league, with a lift of 602.5 pounds in the
242-pound weight class.

Life in Sarasota
When he’s not at Nutrishop Sarasota, Toby enjoys the beautiful Florida beaches, dining at local
restaurants, and soaking up the endless sunshine with Lisa and his daughter.
